Here at Big Country
Outfitters we specialize in "DIY" (Do it yourself) hunts in the spectacular Bridger Teton National Forest and Private Property. We also have "guided" hunting opportunities available. Our hunt success is enhanced
by the "closed road" areas and very limited access.
We hunt Elk, Mule Deer,
Moose and an assortment of other game animals in the Hoback region of Wyoming.
This remote, rugged backcountry is known for producing top quality trophies.
A quick glance through any of the North America big game record books will
make you realize that you will be hunting in a premier area, with the very
real potential of taking a record book animal. Elk Hunts for our rifle
combination hunts are held the last part of season when many of the bulls
are still bugling.
Bowhunters will also
enjoy great hunting opportunities during the prime weeks of early bugling.
Sublette County is home
to the largest Mule deer herd in Wyoming. Many 30” bucks are taken every
year from the Hoback region. Deer season begins in mid September and runs
through mid October, providing ample time to harvest a trophy class buck.
At Big Country Outfitters,
our main emphasis is on providing a few Quality hunts, rather than a large
number of mediocre hunting opportunities.
Most of our hunts are designed
for a single party of hunters. Since we limit the number of hunters, you
can count on getting special attention, great service and an experienced
guide who knows the area. Our guides spend much of the summer scouting
for the fall season.
All non resident Big Game
hunting in Wyoming is regulated by a draw system. When you apply you will
have a choice of "Special" or "Regular" draw. Entering
the "Special" draw costs more but it increases your chance of
being drawn.
If you prefer to hunt
on your own, we also provide the option of choosing between one of our
“Drop Camps” or cabin rentals. Our Drop Camp services include packing you
and your gear, in and out of your hunt area. You will be provided with
a tent, stove, cots and all necessary cooking utensils. You must, however,
provide your own food and personal items.
Cabin rentals are available
at the ranch. With this option you receive all the same amenities that
a guided hunt has to offer, except for a horse and guiding services. Your
meals are provided. Horse rentals are available from several pack stations
in the area.
Transportation is provided to
and from the Jackson Hole Airport, or there is a shuttle available directly
from the Salt Lake city airport. |

All non resident hunters must
first apply for a hunting license through a draw system. Our knowledgeable
staff will assist you by personally handling your applications for each
species you are interested in applying for. All guided hunts are 2x1 to
insure you receive the quality, time, and attention a successful hunt requires.
1x1 hunts can also be arranged for an extra fee. You may also apply as a party with up to 6 hunters in your group. Each hunter
will be assigned his or her own guide. Normally, we will leave together
as a group and split up for the hunt when we reach the destination for that
day. The prices below are all inclusive. This means you will only need to
bring your personal items.
We limit the number of hunters
to approximately 6 for each species. This allows us the ability to offer
you a very PRIVATE hunt. Generally, if you are hunting with one or more
partners, you will have the entire place to yourselves.
The deadline for non-resident
license applications is generally January 31st for Elk, and March
15th for Deer and Antelope. Please call for availability for 2006.
We may have a few openings AFTER the draw is conducted for those
hunters who have already successfully applied for a license in our
area.
Guided hunts DO NOT INCLUDE
the cost of your resident/non-resident license.

$6,500 - Five
day, 2x1, combination hunts for Mule Deer and Elk.
$3,800 - Five day 2x1 hunts for Elk, Mule Deer and Moose. Five full
days of hunting.
Private group of 3-4 hunters only. (Does
not include license fees)
$1,500 - Four day guided
antelope hunt.
Elk hunts in our area are a GENERAL license draw.
Mule Deer are a REGION H license draw.
The
pricing on this page does not apply to Vacation Timeshare owners
or their guests! Many of these services are included in your package
at no cost.

We encourage those who are interested to purchase a Black Bear license.
Black Bears are often seen while hunting for deer and elk. If you would
like to hunt a black bear during this same time, we charge a $1,000 kill
fee. There is no fee charged for the hunt. The charge only applies should
you be successful in taking a black bear. This fee also includes the
caping of the animal for your taxidermist. Black bear licenses can be
obtained over the counter at any Wyoming Game & Fish license outlet.
