Timberline Lodge is ideally located for numerous winter activities, and snowmobile enthusiasts, in the heart of "The Wyoming Range". Snowmobiling season typically runs from late November until the end of April.  The "Wyoming Range" of mountains is located between Alpine and Kemmerer and offers more than 330 miles of groomed snowmobile trails and thousands of acres of off-trail riding areas. Not to mention an abundance of pristine powder. Elevations range from 6,000 to 10,000 feet and include some of the most scenic trails North America has to offer. Wildlife sightings such as Moose, Elk, Mule deer and Bald Eagle are common, so make sure to bring your camera. Snow depth in the area varies depending on time of year but usually run between 3 and 12 feet. For your convenience there are also several permit selling agents in the area.
